OSCE Mission in Kosovo Reports Orderly Completion of Voting
The Head of the OSCE Mission in Kosovo, Ambassador
Werner Almhofer, expressed his satisfaction with the peaceful and
orderly completion of voting in Kosovo.

“I am pleased to report that we were able to
provide people with an opportunity to exercise their right to vote in a
calm environment,” said Almhofer. “Despite a few minor technical issues,
the day’s voting passed in an orderly manner.”
The reported turnout was 32.17 per cent.
Some potential voters reported problems in finding their names on the voter's lists, which the Serbian Election Commission provided to the OSCE.
Several polling stations opened late but all issues were resolved and all 90 polling stations were open by 08:15am.
A high turnout at certain polling stations led to late closings in Mitrovicë/Mitrovica and Gjilan/Gnjilane regions.
“Given the extreme time constraints for conducting this operation – just over five days – I am satisfied that we have done the best possible. I want to complement the staff from all the OSCE Missions involved for their hard work. Our appreciation also goes to the Kosovo police, EULEX and KFOR, who provided security,” added Almhofer.

den Informationen der Kosovo-Polizei in Prizren, beging in den frühen
Morgenstunden des 6. Mai, der ehemalige UCK- Kämpfer Arsim Berisha
(33) SELBSMORD. In der Nähe der Leiche wurde ein Maschinengewehr des
Typs AK 47, gefunden. Die Untersuchungsorgane gehen daher von Selbstmord
aus. Arsim Berisha war einst aktiver UCK Kämpfer. Seit 1999 lebte er
in Elend und Arbeitslosigkeit. Die Organisation der UÇK-Veteranen in

Es wurde ihm nicht ermöglicht seinen Lebensunterhalt zu verdienen. Dies ist nicht einfach eine Frage der Moral, Kultur, und Geschichte sondern eine Frage der ökonomischen Existenz. Verantwortlich für seinen Tod ist eine Gesellschaft welche auf unterschiedlichen sozialen Klassen beruht. Die Gesellschaft in Kosova kennt Privilegien für Minderheiten, auf der anderen Seite gibt es Armut, soziale Ungleichheit und den Kampf ums Überleben. Verantwortlich für das Schicksal von Arsim Berisha ist diese neoliberale antisoziale Klassengesellschaft in Kosova. Verantwortlich für den Tod von Arsim Berisha, sind diejenigen Politer, welche den Profit und die pralle Geldbörse für wenige zum Ideal in Kosova machen. Verantwortlich sind die modernen Kolonialisten mit ihrer Wirtschaft des „freien Marktes“. |
