Geht der Serbische Staat auch wirklich gegen die Serbische Mafia vor?

BELGRADE -- President Boris Tadić said that Serbian police (MUP) Saturday’s Morava operation was the first phase of Serbia’s battle against organized crime and corruption.

“This is not the action of any specific ministry, rather the state of Serbia and the Council for National Security giving orders for what institutions and services should be doing what job,” Tadić said regarding the Morava action in which over 500 suspected drug dealers were arrested Saturday morning.

He said that citizens have seen over the last several months that the state has had good results in the fight against organized crime and production.

“These efforts of the state will continue in the coming period. All these actions are part of a well-thought-out plan which should result in an essential success in the fight against organized crime and corruption,” he said.
