KRUŠEVAC -- Energy and Mining Minister Petar Škundrić said that Serbia will be a regional energy leader in eight to ten years.
Škundrić said that in the next year, Serbia will raise its energy capacities by 300 megawatts, and thermal energy capacities by about 2,000 megawatts. “We are entering a strong cycle of increasing energy capacities, from Kolubara B to Nikola Tesla 3 with 700 megawatts each of installed power, we have also entered a capital restructuring of the Đerdap hydro-electric plant, where we will have an increased capacity of 162 megawatts,” he said. “We have also announced a tender for the gas plant and heating station in Novi Sad, with a capacity of 450 megawatts. I expect that we will do the same for New Belgrade in the coming year, probably with a capacity of 600 megawatts, and there will be more similar ones, only with smaller capacities, in other Serbian cities as well,” the minister said. Škundrić added that Serbia had a record production and consumption of electrical energy this year, and that records have also been set in the production of coal and the placement of gas |
