Two senior officers from the General Directorate Combating Organized
Crime (GDCOC) and an Interior Ministry official were arrested during a
special operation on Thursday. The arrests were made against the head of
the department for the fight against drug trafficking of the GDCOC and
the head of the department at the same Directorate, as well as an
employee of the Ministry of Interior.
All three remained in custody for 24 hours. The head of the GDCOC was arrested while taking bribes.
This was announced by Attorney General Ivan Geshev in an emergency briefing with Interior Minister Mladen Marinov.
