TIRANA, Jan 13 /ATA/ As part of Sustainable Development Week in Abu Dhabi, Prime Minister Edi Rama attended the “Zayed” Award ceremony, which recognizes humanitarian initiatives from those contributing to developing countries. The awards were presented to projects and organizations that have contributed to the advancement of education, the provision of clean drinking water, food aid for underserved communities, and efforts to combat climate change and protect the environment. Prime Minister Rama is currently in the United Arab Emirates, attending the Sustainable Development Week summit, which is held under the auspices of President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The Head of Government is attending this event at the invitation of the President of the UAE. This international forum brings together heads of state and government, business leaders, and civil society representatives to discuss the challenges and prospects of sustainable development on a global scale.

Rama receives Zayed Award, highest honour for an Albanian Prime Minister

TIRANA, Jan 13 /ATA/ – Prime Minister Edi Rama on Tuesday was awarded the “Zayed” medal by United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Rama said the decoration, the highest honour of the UAE, represented the greatest recognition ever awarded to an Albanian Prime Minister. “I am profoundly moved by the unimaginable surprise and the extraordinary honor conferred by the President of the United Arab Emirates, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The awarding of the highest decoration of the friendly nation- bearing the name of the founder of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Zayed- constitutes the greatest expression of respect and recognition ever accorded to an Albanian Prime Minister. I accepted this honor with humility, with deep pride in Albania, and with sincere gratitude to the great friend of the Albanian people, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, as well as to every Albanian who has entrusted me with the leadership and representation of our shared homeland,” Rama wrote on social media. The medal was presented during Sustainable Development Week in Abu Dhabi, where the annual Zayed Awards ceremony was held.
