Situation of power supply worsened
Prishtina, 24 November 2011 (Kosovapress) 15:09The power supply situation in Kosova is worsened due to the failure of B Unit.
The Kosova Energy Corporation (KEK) has stopped today the B Unit as a result of technical problems.
Currently all units of power plant “Kosova A” are in the system, respectively the units A3, A4 and A5, which produce around 400 MW, the hydropower plant of Ujman with 32MW and the import up to 350MW.
The situation is expected to be stabilized after 24 hours, after the B1 unit will be repaired. For 12 years KEK has not reached to normalize the power supply for its consumers, by applying harsh power cuts and without schedule. This corporation has failed as well in collecting the debts from consumers, whereas the UNDP has announced it as “champion” for corruption.
